The Watson Quilters are an outreach group of the Watson Baptist Church. No, we're not all Baptists, nor are we all from Watson. We have Methodists, Catholics, and Church of God in addition to Baptists. Some of the group are from Watson, some from Rock Port, and some from Hamburg, IA. We make quilts for benefits (such as a child who has been injured, or has cancer) and the quilts are either raffled or auctioned off to help raise money for the child's healthcare costs. We also make them and send them to soldiers. We also make some for other money raising events, such as music carnival in Hamburg, "after prom" parties for both Rock Port and Hamburg, for raising money for fireworks in Rock Port, the food pantry in Hamburg, and Watson and numerous benefits for people who have extended illnesses. We have anywhere from 12 to 20 members of our group that meet every Thursday night. Anyone interested can come help us.
